Great Book November 16, 2008 This book is perfect for those looking for ideas of where to take better portraits. Her quick camera set up page is perfect for beginners. Her ideas are laid out in a very easy to follow manner. If you're looking for a book on lighting, posing indivuals etc, this book isn't for you and you'll need to purchase a more detailed book on these subjects. If you're looking for ways to make your portraits better working with available backgrounds and locations, this book is for you.
Good introduction, but.... August 30, 2008 i agree with the first reviewer. This book is very concise and practical for those looking to shoot effective outdoor portraits. However, like other photography books of this kind, the author only includes the sorta easy portrait sessions. Absent in this book are the more difficult portrait sessions such as photographing heavyset people, lighting deep shaded areas. There's not enough suggestions for on-location indoor shoots. Despite not addressing these issues, there are some very good ideas that you can apply immediately in your next portrait sessions.
Just Perfect !!! June 27, 2008 This book is great! The author do not waste your time by rehashing basic methods and deliver a great how-to for 99 different methods of portrait photo ideas! Just amazing!!!
